Ray Johnson, Ph.D., Coordinator began serving as the Coordinator for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Florida in January 2007. Prior to that, he pastored churches in Miami, Florida (1998-2006) and South Carolina (1993-1998). From 1987-1993, he taught Old Testament and Hebrew at the Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary in Baguio City. Ray and his wife Nena (a native Floridian!) have two children, Matt and Holly. Thomas (Tommy) Deal, Associate Coordinator, joined the staff in January, 2005 after serving three churches as Associate Pastor/Education and Administration in Texas, Georgia and Virginia. His wife, Rev. Susan Deal, is Minister of Music at College Park Baptist in Orlando. They have two adult sons attending seminary and serving churches in Atlanta. Tommy is a volunteer Chaplain with Orlando Police. He loves to sing in church and plays golf during his “spare time.” Contact: tdeal@floridacbf.org |

Doran McCarty, Assistant to the Coordinator for Networking and Growth served as professor of philosophy, theology, ministry and Director of the Doctor of Ministry program at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He started the Northeastern Baptist School of Ministry and served as Executive Director of Seminary Extension. He also was Director of D.Min program for Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary. Martha Edwards, Administrative Assistant was born in Rutland, a small city nestled in the Green Mountains of Vermont. She has a brother who lives in Atlanta and three beautiful nieces. Before coming to CBF of Florida in 2006, she was an Executive Secretary at Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale and a Warranty / Construction Administrator for a local builder. Pat Herold, Finance and Accounting joined CBF of Florida August, 2010.
Pat was born in Fairbanks and raised in North Pole, Alaska. She has one son, Robert, who is a screenwriter and director and lives in Hollywood, CA. They traveled extensively for several years until she settled in Bradenton, FL when her son started to school. She moved to Lakeland in 1995 and is enjoying life with her (relatively) new husband and their four little dogs. She enjoys sculpting, wood working, fishing and is an active member of the Lakeland Miniature Guild. Contact: pherold@floridacbf.org
