Thanks to Al LaRoe, Assoc. Pastor of Bluewater
BC, Niceville and his two teenage children, Albert
and Leslie and Barry Hudspeth, Deacon from FBC
Pensacola and State DART Volunteer Coordinator,
we were able to check on the seven requests for
assistance from widows. These widows had needs
with debris removal and perhaps some roof leaks.
One home had a tree on the roof that was too
big for us. A tree expert was called in and then
a roofer was going to check the roof. Several
had already had their needs met before we arrived.
At Mrs. Davenport’s home, we were able
to remove a tree limb that had pierced the roof
of her garage and then put up some temporary weatherproofing
sheathing. We also removed several large limbs
and began to cut limbs and carry them to the road
for her. She was very appreciative.
Barry Howard, pastor, and FBC Pensacola were
appreciative of our representing CBFFL and offering
the help.
All needs have been taken care of at this point.
We will consider our team now on “STAND-DOWN.”
Thank you, everyone, who helped in many ways.
Many contacted me but could not respond this time.
That is always understood. We learned some things
from this first event; we learned, hopefully,
about the communication. Let me know how you felt
about that.
I returned home to Orlando at 12:30 a.m. this
morning safely. Thank you for all the prayers!
P.S. I just received a thank you note from a
Mrs. D. in Pensacola whom we helped on Saturday.
She wrote:
Dear Thomas Deal,
I shall never be able to thank you enough for
coming to help me after Dennis. You and your
friends were so wonderful to come to my rescue.
You and yours will always be in my prayers.
Bless you always, In His Love, E.L.D.
