LAKE MACK, FLORIDA
Over one hundred CBF volunteers have come to assist
thus far in this little community outside of Deland,
Florida. These volunteers have come from at least ten
of our churches. We have promised financial contributions
to at least four partner groups in this recovery effort.
This next week we will begin to explore what other more
long-term needs can be met through the generosity of
time and resources of Cooperative Baptists. Yes, Cooperative
Baptist Fellowship has been the presence of Christ to
those affected by these deadly tornados.
This week volunteers will be needed every day as we
continue to partner with the community recovery operation
center donation receipt and disbursement area as well
as debris clean-up along with American Baptist Association
Disaster Relief. Through Thursday, February 15th, all
CBF volunteers should report to the Central Baptist
Church Camp on Hwy 42 off Hwy 44 outside of Deland for
registration and assignments by 9:00 a.m. PLEASE CALL
me the day before to let me know of any individuals
and groups coming.
Financial donations are still being accepted at the
CBF of Florida office, earmarked for “Disaster
Recovery.” This week we will cover the rental
of a Bobcat tractor for the ABA group, contribute to
the food preparation/serving needs being funded through
First Assembly of God Eustis and contribute through
this church to the community relief fund that will directly
aide families in the community. As I stated before,
I will continue to explore other areas where you can
help by volunteering and/or contributing. (REMINDER:
NO Clothes donations are being accepted.)
Thank you all for your concern and compassion. Please
call me with any questions or to volunteer. Have a blessed
time of worshipping the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Because of HIM!
