As the CBF Florida staff begins a new year, we want
to remind you of the various opportunities, ministries
and resources that we provide. This work is made possible
because of the faithful partners we have who support
this work. We are grateful for your faithful giving.
The January Florida Fellowship News
presented the 2003 budget. As you reviewed this information,
I hope that you are aware of the need for your ongoing
commitment. We are very much aware of the impact the
economic downturn has had on individuals and churches,
and we commit to you that we shall continue to be diligent
in managing the gifts you send our way.
We are thankful for the churches that partner with
us and allow individuals to contribute to CBF Florida
through the church budget. We also know that many of
you do not have the freedom to contribute through your
church and are grateful for each one of you who supports
the budget directly. If you have never made a pledge
to help support the work of CBF Florida, we ask you
to prayerfully consider doing this in 2003.
When you contribute to our budget…
- You help provide scholarships for deserving ministerial
students. This year eight men and women have received
financial assistance from CBF Florida.
- You help provide funds for summer missions interns
to experience life on the mission field and to be
made aware of the opportunities for service.
- You have provided financial assistance to four new
churches in Florida and a number of new churches in
Portugal.
- You provide placement assistance to local churches
looking for staff and to ministers seeking places
to serve.
- You provide funds to maintain the ministry buildings
at Touching Miami with Love and Open House Ministries.
- You provide opportunities for church staff to participate
in continuing education.
- You provide educational resources for church study
committees.
You provide the BEST state newsletter of all the CBF
states to over 9,000 households.
- You provide funds for our three state meetings –
Annual Meeting, State Meeting at the national General
Assembly and the Luncheon in November plus several
meetings around the state.
You enable the Florida members on the national CBF
Coordinating Council to attend the working meetings
of this national governing council.
- You assist with the expenses of our state Representative
Assembly meetings in March and October.
- Yes, your contributions also go toward paying staff
salaries, paying for the utilities at our office,
travel expenses, maintaining the office equipment,
computers, paying the phone bill, buying paper, pens,
tape, staples and white out, all of the necessary
things to keep us up and running.
- You enable us to "tell the story" to individuals
and groups in person, in writing and through the internet.
This is all part and parcel of what helps us to keep
telling the story of free and faithful Baptists. It
is a partnership. We work on your behalf. We are thankful
for the role you play as together we continue to be
a light, salt, God’s love.
If you are not contributing, we invite you to become
a member of the team!
To all of you who do contribute… Thanks
for making it possible and God bless!
