Hunger Fight Student Meal Packing Event
1 in 6 people and 1 in 4 children in Florida are affected by food insecurity. You can make a difference for those struggling with hunger!
CBF Florida Student Meal Packing Event Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9 AM- 11 PM Island View Baptist Church Cost - each participant will raise $85.00 to purchase the raw ingredients for the event. Every $1 given to hunger fight provides 4 meals to children and families. Students are invited to attend (and provide leadership in!) the CBF Florida Spring Celebration worship service at 11:15 AM and then go out to lunch with students from other CBF Florida churches after worship.
Participants can pay for the event via one of the following options:
- Click on donate (see green button on right) and utilize our PayPal account for payment purposes. Be sure to notate Hunger Fight in the appropriate place.
- Mail a check to CBF FL at P.O. Box 2556, Lakeland, FL 33860. Remember to indicate on the check that it is for "Hunger Fight."
- Call Melissa Rodriguez at the CBF FL office at 863-682-6802 to submit a credit card payment over the phone.
CBF Florida is excited to announce that we are partnering with Passport Camps to bring PASSPORTkids! to Florida. PASSPORTkids! will be held at Stetson University in DeLand, June 10 - 13, 2018. It is 4-day, 3-night children's camp for children who have completed 3rd - 6th grade, filled with fun, faith-building programming and hands-on missions education.
At camp, your children will discover God's love and practice being followers of Jesus through an active schedule of Bible study, missions education, recreation, and worship. Group leaders will be able to focus on engaging with children as they explore their faith without the burden of planning and logistics. To see the PASSPORTkids! camp promotional video, click here.

CBF Church Starts Discernment Cohorts
The CBF Church Start Discernment Cohorts takes place four times a year. This free 8-week online experience is for those discerning and living out a call to start new churches. It is a creative space for people who are already in the process of starting a church to explore and work through the vision and mission. This is a safe space for all participants who engage in the secure and private site.
Participants will work through the basics of contextual church starting, introspective writing, and group conversation. Over the 8-weeks, the candidate will be accumulating his or her writings in a church start profile, which serves as a tool for the starter and evaluation tool for CBF.
The next cohort will begin July 9th and run through September 1st. This cohort has a July 3rd registration deadline.
The final cohort for 2017 will be October 8th and run through December 1st.

In January 2015, Touching Miami with Love and Open House Ministries merged and became one ministry with two sites. In September of 2015, as a result of discussions with stakeholders, staff and board members following the merger, they have decided to become known as: Touching Miami with Love: Overtown and West Homestead!
