In 2008, CBF of Florida began a relationship with brothers and sisters in eastern Cuba. The Convención Bautista de Cuba Oriental (Eastern Cuba Baptist Convention) and one of our churches, La Primera Iglesia Bautista de Deltona were in a partnership in which the Deltona church sponsored financially 40 mission churches. They needed an entity which could apply for and receive a license from the U.S. government to send monies to Cuba. We took the invitation and applied for and received the license. For two years we have been able to send to Cuba monies the Deltona church collects to help support the mission work there.

Several representatives from CBF national and CBF of Florida have visited Santiago de Cuba and surrounding area in order to meet these fellow Christians and to investigate how we can partner together with them in the Gospel. Those plans are still in prayerful consideration.
