Our Bahamian brothers and sisters in Acklins Island Bahamas were very grateful for CBF of Florida's wonderful response to their need for food, water and tarps after Hurricane Irene. These items were delivered on Tuesday, August 30, 2012 accompanied by Tommy Deal, CBF of Florida's Associate Coordinator and Merrie and David Harding, CBF's International Disaster Coordinator.
The more pressing need now is to assist in repairing the church in Abaco. We are waiting on guidance from Pastor John McIntosh and other leadership to let us know when they will need "manpower" to begin repairs. This will come as the supplies can be secured. They will probably need contributions to assist with the purchase of these supplies. We will pass this along as we learn of them.
Teams of 6 - 8 could go for three to four days ready to do some light to moderate construction-type work. PASSPORTS are required.
Donations will be needed. Checks may be sent to our office in Lakeland. You may also donate DIRECTLY on-line, right now! http://www.floridacbf.org/donate-on-line-form Be sure and choose "DISASTER RESPONSE."
